The Dow Jones fell more than 600 points after weak economic data
US stock indices fell during trading Thursday, after the release of weak economic data that raised more concerns about the possibility of a recession in the US economy.
And the final reading of the US GDP recorded a contraction of 0.6% in the second quarter, in line with expectations.
But the number of jobless claims in America fell to 193 thousand last week, defying expectations of a rise to 215,000.
In terms of trading, the Dow Jones index fell at 14:19 GMT by 2%, or about 606 points, to 29,077 points, and the Nasdaq Composite index fell by 3.3%, or about 465 points, to 10,687 points, in When the S&P 500 fell 2.5%, or 96 points, to 3,623 points.
