US consumer sentiment rises in October
A survey published on Friday concluded that US consumer sentiment rose to a seven-month high in early October, as an increase in expectations of improved economic prospects in the future overshadowed a change in the direction of assessments of current conditions.
The University of Michigan Department of Consumer Surveys said a preliminary reading of its index in October rose to 81.2 from a final reading of 80.4 in September.
It was the highest reading since March and slightly exceeds the median forecast of economists in a Reuters poll of 80.5.
