Biden welcomes the strong growth of the economy and calls on Congress to pass legislation

US President Joe Biden welcomed the strong growth rate in gross domestic product announced on Thursday, saying the economic plan was working and urging Congress to:

Pass legislation to make the United States more competitive.

"I urge Congress to continue this momentum by passing legislation to make America more competitive, strengthen our supply chains, and bolster manufacturing, innovation, and investment in ... clean energy," Biden said in a statement.
