US stocks closed Thursday's session mixed with technology stocks rising, inflation data being absorbed, and a lower-than-estimated Producer Price Index reading for March.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed slightly lower by 2.43 points, or 0.01%, to 38,459.08 points.

While he S&P 500 index rose at the close by 38.42 points, or 0.74%, to the level of 5199.06 points.

The Nasdaq index rose at the end of trading by 271.84 points, or 1.68%, to the level of 16,442.20 points.

Technology stocks lifted the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indexes into positive territory midway through Thursday's session as investors turned to buying after a decline earlier in the week due to selling on concerns about persistently high inflation rates.

Nvidia's stock price jumped nearly 4%. Other members of the “Magnificent Seven” rose, with Amazon and Alphabet rising more than 2%, as shares of the e-commerce giant reached all-time highs. Apple shares jumped 3%, achieving their best day in 2024.
