European shares close slightly higher despite higher bond yields
European shares closed slightly higher on Wednesday, seemingly ignoring concerns about rising bond yields as well as historical inflation levels in the UK.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 closed 0.2% higher after starting the session in the red.
Mining stocks led the gains, jumping 2.7%.
Investors are bracing for the prospect of higher interest rates, which could hurt high-growth sectors such as technology.
European technology stocks were among the biggest decliners on Wednesday, by 0.9%.
US bond yields continued to climb, with 10-year Treasuries rising to 1.89%, the highest in two years.
