US stocks higher at close

US stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.76%, while the S&P 500 gained 1.04% and the NASDAQ Composite added 0.98%.

The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT), which rose 3.04% or 9.64 points to trade at 326.44 at the close. In contrast, Dow Inc (NYSE:DOW) added 2.88% or 1.47 points to end at 52.48 and JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) added 2.79% or 5.44 points to 200.34 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), which fell 1.41% or 2.28 points to trade at 158.97 at the close. Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) declined 1.39% or 0.28 points to end at 19.83 and Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) was down 1.19% or 1.99 points to 165.04.

On the other hand, the best performance on the S&P 500 was recorded by Kenvue Inc (NYSE:KVUE), which rose by 14.68% to 20.86, Uber Technologies Inc (NYSE:UBER) which also continued to rise by 10.93% to close at 64.87, and Royal Caribbean (NYSE:RCL) which rose by 7.51% to close at 150.26. The worst performers today were Henry Schein Inc (NASDAQ:HSIC), which fell 8.11% to 63.92 in late trade, Albemarle Corp (NYSE:ALB), which lost 4.78% to settle at 79.53 and Vulcan Materials Co (NYSE:VMC), which was down 4.39% to 246.14 in late trade.
